We are lifting up the family of Duane Acker in our prayers. Duane passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10.  The committal service will be on Monday, Sept. 19, and the procession will start at 2:15pm from the Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, in Rittman (360 w. Sunset Drive, Rittman, OH). Burial will be at the Ohio Western National Cemetery in Seville, OH. Pastor Emilie will provide the committal service, followed by military honors at 2:45pm. Flowers are donated by Pat and Wink in honor of their son, Damon Winkleman and to express thanks to Pastor Emilie for her service at St. John, as our interim Pastor. 

St. John Bell Choir: A sign-up sheet is available in the Narthex for those interested to join Bell Choir. The first practice will be this Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6pm.   

Noisy Offering: Thanks to everyone who donated to the Noisy Offering on 9/4/22. We collected $83.92 for our Building Fund.

  • Crop Walk the October 2 at 2:30pm at the Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland. It is all about ending hunger one step at a time.  Special offerings will be collected in September and a Temple Talk will share details of this fundraiser event.
  • Fall Craft Festival is Saturday, Oct. 29. Please start working on your crafts and baked items, which can be frozen.  More details coming.

Lutheran World Relief Kits: St. John WELCA will again be collecting items for Lutheran World school, personal care and fabric kits.  A list of items needed is on the table in the narthex. Deadline is the end of September.

Borrow or reserve Church’s items or space:  all requests for use of the church or it’s inventory such as: Tables, chairs, coffee pots, roasters, etc. should be scheduled with Kathy Baldner.  (Phone: 419-994-4800 or mkb5152@yahoo.com). 

Elevator updateThe elevator is not working correctly. We are in process of getting it repaired. Please do not use it.

Helping those in need:
For the Homeless:  Needs are: Smaller sized tarps, bottled water, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nutritious packaged treats/meats, socks & shirts. Donation boxes for monetary and item donations are in the basement by the side door. 

Food Pantry needs:  Remember those in need and deliver directly to a Pantry of your choice.
Loudonville Food Pantry: Laundry soap, complete pancake mix & syrup, jelly, cake mixes & frosting
Lakeville Food Pantry: Shampoo, deodorant, soap, toothpaste.
