Confirmation Class reminder: The next class is scheduled for today, Sept. 21 after church (12:30-2:30).
Craft Day at St. John: The next craft day is soon scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 th , starting at 10a.m. During this gathering, projects for the upcoming St. John Craft Fair will be worked on.
“Stay Steady, Stay Strong” St. John’s! The final workshop session held Sunday, September 28 after worship. Lunch will be provided. Join us for a hands-on workshop to help you improve balance, prevent falls, and feel more confident in your activities of daily living. This class is for everyone and will include personalized balance assessment. Come relax, learn and socialize with your St. John family. Contact Erin Slates or Barb Landis with questions you may have.
Crop Walk is Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM. We will be walking at Mohican State Park, off Route 3, past Trails End Restaurant. We will be walking approximately 2 1/2 miles. Crop Walks are community based, interfaith events that raise money to end hunger locally and around the world. Please consider joining this fun event and there will be ice cream at the end! Questions–ask Barb Landis or Melissa Puster. A sign-up sheet is in the Narthex.
St. John WELCA: The next WELCA meeting will be October 8 th , starting at 12:30p.m. (note start time change). Fran Puster will share devotions and Barb Landis will have the Bible Study.
Free items: After a cabinet clean out, there are numerous items on the table in the fellowship hall for your viewing pleasure. These are all free and are on a first come basis. Also, the play kitchen will be given to anyone interested, the accessories go with the kitchen.
Collection of Lutheran World Relief Packs: The list of each kit is below. Please pick up a WELCA bag from the box in the narthex and fill it with school or personal supplies as listed in the bulletin and on the sheet list in the bag box. It all goes to Lutheran World Relief to help needy children. The deadline to turn in the WELCA school and personal bags will be October 5. They will be packed into delivery boxes at the October 8th meeting and delivered to the semi-truck at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Seville, Ohio on October 18.
School Kits:
· Four (4) 70 Sheet Notebook (wide or college rule). No loose paper.
· One (1) 30-centimeter ruler OR Ruler with both inches and centimeters
· One (1) Pencil Sharpener
· One (1) Blunt pair of scissors
· Five (5) unsharpened #2 Pencils with eraser, secure with rubber band
· Five (5) Ballpoint Pens (no Gel ink), secure with rubber band
· One (1) box of Crayons, 16 or 24 count
· One (1) 1 ½” Eraser
Personal Kits:
· One (1) light or medium weight bath towel, dark color
· Two (2) bath-sized bars of soap (4-5oz) in original wrappers
· One (1) Adult size toothbrush in original wrapper
· One (1) Sturdy comb, remove packaging
· One (1) Metal Nail Clippers, remove packaging
Helping those in need:
For the Homeless: Some specific spring/summer weather needs are: short sleeved shirts, light weight coats, socks, sun block hats and blankets. A full list of additional suggested items is in the Narthex.
Food Pantry needs: Remember those in need and deliver directly to a Pantry of your choice.
o Loudonville Food Pantry: Shampoo, Knorr sides for hamburger, mustard, catsup and cereal.
o Lakeville Food Pantry: Pancake syrup, Toilet paper, dish soap, Jiffy cornbread mix.
